For my Drawing for Designers class. Make a piece playing with symmetry. Medium: Pen.
My process for this piece was to just draw whatever comes to mind in my sketchbook. I scrolled through Instagram for inspiration when needed. After I had my elements drawn out, I scanned them into Photoshop where I put them all together, rescaled, and arranged them. I like how old Bond posters and Star Wars posters look where things are collaged together and flow out but you can't see where one thing starts or ends, that is the look I was going for. After everything was in place, I cut it in half and printed out each half on their own piece of letter paper (so it wouldn't be too small) and traced over each side. Then I went and "reverse traced" (for lack of better word) the two sides back down onto my paper. Finally, I used pens of varying weights and types to go back over the pencil marks with ink.
Generally I just drew things I liked and smashed them together to sort of tell a tale. This makes me think of a Bond/Johnny Quest cartoon (hence the frogman), something with a lot of adventure and these are some of the villains, and I gave it the fake title of "Creeps and Freaks."
